3 State Artists Win Awards at Arts Festival

Three Wisconsin artists were among the award winners Friday at the 38th Lakefront Festival of Arts.  The winners, each of whom received $1,000, were recognized at a banquet Friday night for exhibiting artists and volunteers. Serving as jurors were Bruce Pepich, director of the Wustum   Museum of Fine Arts in Racine; Tom Uttech, a painter from Saukville; and Tom Hinson, curator of contemporary art and photography at the Cleveland Museum of Art.  The Lakefront Festival of Arts is being held downtown on grounds to the north of the Milwaukee Art Museum, 750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive. The event continues through Sunday.
